Sandvik has a highly skilled projects division specializing in the design, manufacture, installation and commissioning of complete conveyor systems for use in mining, power generation, port systems, grain handling and the full range of conveyor applications. In addition to designing new systems from scratch, we undertake upgrading projects to expand or optimize and modernize existing conveyor systems. Sandvik offers in-plant conveyor systems with capacities from 100 to 20 000 t/h for handling bulk materials in quarrying, construction, chemicals, food processing and power generation. Sandvik conveyor solutions for opencast mines include semi-mobile, shiftable and fully mobile track-mounted systems, always tailored exactly to the needs of the customer. Sandvik special conveyor systems include regenerative conveyors, belt feeders, high-angle conveyors and compact vertical-lift conveyors that can overcome large differences in elevation. For the underground mining sector, our recent innovations include a very flexible continuous haulage system for continuous miners in room-and-pillar operations, as well as a unique straight-line continuous haulage system to support continuous miners in the so-called punch mining method, details of which can be seen below.
